Ukraine and Canada have formalized an agreement to initiate joint production of reconnaissance drones aimed at bolstering the capabilities of Ukraine’s defense forces. The agreement was signed by representatives from the defense ministries of both nations.
The collaboration will see the establishment of a new joint venture named Airlogix-Sentinel, which combines the expertise of Ukrainian defense technology firm Airlogix with Canadian drone manufacturer Sentinel Research and Development. The drones produced through this partnership are set to be supplied to Ukraine’s armed forces.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense noted that this partnership presents Canada with opportunities to enhance its production capabilities in critical technologies and gain access to effective solutions for modern warfare. The ministry emphasized that Ukraine and Canada will continue to pursue collaborative solutions that align with the security interests of both countries, fostering a mutually beneficial partnership within the framework of Ukraine’s defense strategy.
Earlier developments in this area include a similar agreement between Ukraine and Norway, announced in late April, which aims to establish the first joint production of Ukrainian drones. This initiative plans to manufacture several thousand mid-strike drones within Norway.
