White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt announced on April 24 that the United States has observed some progress from Iran regarding the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
Levitt confirmed that special envoys from the U.S. administration, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are scheduled to travel to Pakistan on the morning of April 25 to engage in discussions with Iranian representatives.
“We have certainly seen some progress from Iran over the past few days. The President decided to send Steve and Jared to listen to the Iranians, so we will see what they have to say,” Levitt stated.
She expressed hope that the upcoming meeting would yield positive outcomes.
Additionally, it was noted that on April 21, President Donald Trump announced an indefinite extension of the ceasefire with Iran at Pakistan’s request. Reports also indicated that U.S. military leadership is preparing plans for potential strikes against Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz if the current lull in hostilities concludes without any agreements.
The White House has reported progress in negotiations with Iran, with U.S. envoys set to engage in talks in Pakistan. This follows a recent extension of the ceasefire and preparations for potential military action if discussions fail.
