Tragic Collision in Cherkasy Claims Lives of Civilian and Two Soldiers

A serious traffic accident in the Cherkasy region resulted in the deaths of a civilian and two soldiers from the Zvenyhorod District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. The incident occurred on April 30 near the village of Knyazha.

According to reports, another soldier and a civilian were transported to a medical facility with varying degrees of injuries. The deceased soldiers had been actively involved in combat operations in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, contributing to the defense of Ukraine.

The Cherkasy police have initiated an investigation under the article concerning violations of traffic safety regulations that led to multiple fatalities. Preliminary findings indicate that a 54-year-old driver of a Ford Galaxy failed to maintain a safe speed, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with a Skoda Kodiaq driven by a 42-year-old man. Both drivers and a 52-year-old passenger in the Ford were killed in the crash.

Two other men, aged 34 and 40, who were passengers in the Ford, were hospitalized due to their injuries. The impact of the collision scattered agricultural materials being transported by one of the vehicles onto the roadway. Law enforcement officials have stated that investigative actions are ongoing, and several expert assessments have been commissioned.
