On May 23, a series of Russian drone attacks in the Kharkiv region led to the death of one woman and injuries to four others. The incidents occurred in the early morning and late morning hours, targeting both vehicles and residential areas.
At approximately 6:00 AM, a Russian drone struck a VAZ vehicle traveling on the Dergachi-Kozacha Lopan road, between the villages of Nova Kozacha and Tsupivka. An 86-year-old female passenger lost her life in the attack, while her son, who was driving, sustained injuries and required hospitalization.
Later, around 11:35 AM, Russian armed forces launched an attack on the city of Balakliya in the Izium district. Preliminary reports indicate that two Geran-type drones were used in this assault. One drone hit near a sports complex, while the other struck close to a residential building.
The attacks resulted in damage to vehicles and shattered windows in nearby structures. Three individuals sought medical assistance following the strikes.
