Recent military actions by Russian forces in the Kherson region have led to the deaths of two individuals, including three children among the 26 reported injured. This information was shared by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration, on social media on May 3.
The attacks have caused significant damage to various infrastructures, including a cellular tower, a store, an administrative building, three apartment blocks, five private homes, public transport vehicles, an ambulance, agricultural machinery, and several cars.
Russian troops employed drones, artillery, and airstrikes targeting 39 localities within the region. Prokudin indicated that residential areas, as well as critical and social infrastructure, were among the primary targets.
On May 2, Russian forces specifically targeted minibuses in the Dniprovskyi and Central districts of Kherson using drones. This assault resulted in two fatalities and injuries to ten others.
In one incident, a drone strike in the Dniprovskyi district left two boys, aged 15 and 17, with severe injuries. A 17-year-old girl also sustained shrapnel wounds to her leg, along with a concussion and closed head trauma.
Additionally, a drone attack on a supermarket in the Dniprovskyi district injured four individuals, all of whom were hospitalized with moderate injuries due to explosive trauma and contusions.
In another incident, a drone targeted a woman and a man in the Central district, both of whom were subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
Moreover, Russian military forces struck the Inzhenerne area near Kherson, resulting in a 35-year-old man suffering from explosive injuries, who was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The recent escalation of Russian military operations in the Kherson region has resulted in fatalities and numerous injuries, alongside extensive damage to infrastructure. Targeted strikes have particularly impacted civilian areas and essential services.
