Qatar Resumes Maritime Traffic After Closure of Strait of Hormuz

Starting Sunday, April 12, maritime traffic for all vessels in Qatar’s territorial waters will be fully restored following the recent closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement was made by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport.

Navigation will be permitted daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time. Additionally, fishing vessels with the appropriate licenses will be allowed to operate throughout the day.

Qatari tankers had not traversed the Strait of Hormuz for over a month due to its effective closure, which was a consequence of ongoing military actions in Iran.

Qatar is set to reopen its maritime routes after a significant disruption caused by military conflicts affecting the Strait of Hormuz. The resumption of navigation signals a return to normalcy for local shipping operations.
