Putin Open to Meeting Zelensky for Peace Agreement

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed willingness to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a third country, but only to finalize a peace agreement to end the ongoing conflict.

During a briefing on May 9, Putin acknowledged Zelensky’s openness to a personal meeting, stating, “We have never refused, and I have not refused. If someone proposes this meeting, please let them come to Moscow, and we will meet.” He emphasized that any meeting in a third country would only occur after reaching a comprehensive peace deal.

Putin further noted that the situation regarding the Ukrainian conflict is approaching a resolution, suggesting a potential end to hostilities.
