On June 11, a violent confrontation occurred in the Zhovtnevyi district of Zaporizhzhia, where a man attacked police officers during a sanctioned search related to a criminal investigation. The incident left three officers injured from stab wounds, and the assailant was shot dead by law enforcement in response.
According to the National Police, the altercation took place around 3:40 PM when officers attempted to execute a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. The man reportedly used tear gas against the officers before launching a knife attack.
Despite police orders to cease his aggressive actions, the suspect continued to pose a direct threat to the officers’ safety. In an effort to neutralize the immediate danger, one officer discharged his service weapon, resulting in the suspect’s death.
The three injured officers were promptly hospitalized, and medical teams are providing necessary care. The police have confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
