The annual concert celebrating Russia Day, traditionally held on Red Square, has been canceled this year, according to reports from Msk1. The event, titled “In the Unity of Peoples – the Strength of Russia,” was set to feature performances by notable artists such as Shaman, Larisa Dolina, and Alexander Buynov, and was organized by singer Nadezhda Babkina’s team.
Instead of the iconic venue, the concert will now take place at the cultural center “Mossovet” located at Preobrazhenskaya Square. This change marks a significant shift in the celebration of Russia Day, which is observed annually on June 12.
Earlier this month, Red Square hosted a military parade on May 9, which was notably the first without military hardware since 2007. The Russian Ministry of Defense attributed this decision to the current operational situation.
Despite the cancellation of the concert, Red Square remains a hub for large-scale events, having recently hosted a book festival from June 4 to June 7.
The cancellation of the annual concert on Red Square for Russia Day reflects shifting priorities in event planning, with the concert now relocated to a different venue. This change follows a military parade earlier this month that also marked a departure from tradition.
