NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte arrived in Kyiv on June 3, 2026, in an unannounced visit, as confirmed by Ukrainian Railways.
The arrival of Rutte was noted in a social media post by the rail operator, which stated, “Today at Kyiv’s railway station, we warmly welcome NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. This visit is extremely important, as are all previous ones, as it symbolizes the Alliance’s solidarity and support for our country.”
Photographs released by Ukrainian Railways depicted Rutte being greeted by Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Subsequently, Ukrainian Railways removed the post regarding Rutte’s arrival from its social media platforms.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte's unannounced visit to Kyiv underscores ongoing support for Ukraine from the Alliance. His arrival was marked by a meeting with Ukraine's Foreign Minister, although the rail operator later deleted the announcement from social media.
