The local government in Kotelniki, a city near Moscow, has announced that it will not disclose the locations of emergency shelters after a recent drone attack attributed to Ukraine. This decision follows an incident on June 18, when 17 residents in the Moscow region were injured, including nine individuals in Kotelniki, among them a three-year-old child.
Officials stated that according to Russian law, information about shelters and bomb shelters should only be shared with the public during mobilization or wartime. This policy aims to mitigate risks associated with potential terrorist threats.
In comments made on the Telegram channel of Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov, Kotelniki’s administration emphasized that the addresses of bomb shelters are classified as “restricted access information” and are not to be disclosed.
Kotelniki, which has a population of approximately 75,000, is situated to the east of Moscow. The city borders the Kapotnya district, home to a major oil refinery that has reportedly faced ongoing drone strikes in recent days.
