On May 7, Ukrainian defense forces reported a significant escalation in combat activities along the eastern front, with 156 clashes recorded since the start of the day. The Pokrovsk direction witnessed 21 of these encounters, underscoring the ongoing volatility in the region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided an update at 10 PM, detailing the tactical situation. Ukrainian forces continue to effectively counter enemy advances, inflicting casualties and depleting the combat capabilities of Russian troops through sustained artillery fire.
In a show of aggression, Russian forces launched a missile strike and conducted 65 aerial assaults, deploying 178 guided bombs. Additionally, they utilized 4,869 kamikaze drones and executed 2,175 shellings targeting both populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
Fighting remains fierce across various fronts. In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, one of the ten ongoing clashes is taking place. The South-Slobozhansky front saw the enemy attempt to storm Ukrainian positions four times.
In the Kupiansk area, Russian forces launched two attacks near Rad’kivka. The Lyman front experienced eight assaults from Russian troops, while Ukrainian defense successfully repelled an advance in the Sloviansk direction.
Ukrainian forces managed to thwart six attempts by the enemy to advance in the Kostiantynivka area. The Pokrovsk front remains particularly active, with 21 attacks reported. In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian troops made three attempts to improve their positions, while the Hulyaipole area saw 17 assaults.
Lastly, in the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian defenses three times, but were met with resistance. Ukrainian troops also halted three assault actions in the Dnipro direction.
The Ukrainian military is facing intensified combat on multiple fronts, with over 150 clashes reported on May 7. Despite the aggressive tactics employed by Russian forces, Ukrainian defenders are successfully repelling attacks and inflicting significant damage on enemy capabilities.
