According to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, there were 45 combat engagements reported on the front lines from 10 PM to 8 AM on May 9, reflecting a consistent level of conflict seen in recent days. A ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia has been in effect since midnight.
Throughout the day, a total of 245 combat encounters were recorded, with 200 battles noted by the evening of May 8.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the aggressor conducted 35 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas, including one using multiple rocket launchers. Additionally, there were 10 assaults by enemy forces.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian units near the settlements of Prilypka, Vovchansk, Lyman, Starytsia, and towards Izbytske, Chaikivka, and Ternova.
In the Kupiansk direction, one attack was reported near Rad’kivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy made eight attempts to breach defenses, targeting the settlements of Drobysheve, Zarichne, Stavky, Yampil, and Lyman.
Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled two attempts by the invaders to advance in the Sloviansk direction towards the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kalenyky.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one attack was directed towards Tykhonivka.
The enemy launched 21 attacks in the Kostiantynivka direction, targeting areas near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, Rusynyi Yar, Novopavlivka, Toretske, and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, defenders halted 37 enemy assaults in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka, Bilitske, Muravka, Zatyshok, Ivanivka, Dorožne, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, and towards Serhiivka and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy conducted three attacks in the areas of Oleksandrovgrad and Vorone.
In the Huliaipilske direction, the occupiers carried out 22 attacks in the vicinity of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Zaliznychne, Bahate, Olenokostiantynivka, and towards Novo Zaporizhzhia, Vozdvizhivka, Staroukrainka, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, one offensive action was noted near Shcherbakiv.
In the Dnipro direction, the enemy conducted three attacks towards Antonivka.
President Volodymyr Zelensky affirmed his support for the U.S. President’s statement regarding the ceasefire with Russia on May 9-11.
