Dnipro has claimed its third consecutive championship title in the Ukrainian Superleague, defeating Kyiv-Basket in the playoff finals. The decisive match concluded with a score of 60-50, following Dnipro’s earlier victory in the series.
Entering the second game of the final series, Dnipro was coming off a win against Kyiv-Basket, having previously triumphed 78-70 in the first match. The initial quarter of the latest game saw Kyiv-Basket take an early lead, finishing 22-17, which was crucial for their hopes of keeping the title contest alive.
However, Dnipro made a significant turnaround in the second quarter, dominating the period with a 20-3 run, allowing them to take a lead into halftime. The third quarter witnessed a resurgence from Kyiv-Basket, who outscored Dnipro 21-8, regaining a slight advantage.
In the final quarter, Dnipro managed to seal the victory, pulling ahead decisively to secure their championship title. This win marks Dnipro’s fourth overall championship, placing them alongside BC Odesa for third place in total titles won in the league. The record for the most titles remains with Budivelnyk, which has secured 11 championships.
