Delays Expected at Shehyni-Medyka Border Crossing Due to Repairs

Starting Monday, June 15, delays are anticipated for bus processing at the Shehyni-Medyka border crossing due to ongoing repair work, according to the press service of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The Polish authorities have announced that repair operations will commence on the lanes designated for bus entry into Poland, which involves departures from Ukraine. Although bus services will continue, travelers should prepare for potential delays, with an estimated processing capacity of up to eight buses over a 12-hour period.

The Shehyni-Medyka crossing is one of the busiest points along the Ukrainian-Polish border, facilitating a significant volume of international passenger transport via both bus and car.

On June 10, the State Customs Service had already issued a warning regarding temporary traffic restrictions at this crossing, citing information from the Polish customs administration about the upcoming repair work.

According to preliminary information, the repairs are expected to last until November 2027. During this period, bus crossings from Ukraine to Poland at the Shehyni-Medyka point will be suspended.

As reported by the State Border Guard Service, there are a total of 18 border crossing points and control points along the Ukrainian-Polish border, including nine vehicle crossing points.

The Shehyni-Medyka border crossing will experience delays for bus processing due to repair work starting June 15, with operations expected to last until November 2027. Travelers should account for potential disruptions during this period.
