Ukrainian President Seeks February Talks with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed a desire to hold the next round of negotiations with Russia in February. He emphasized the importance of European participation in these discussions, citing the involvement of countries such as France, Britain, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.

In a statement, Zelensky noted that he has been in frequent communication with the Ukrainian delegation in Geneva and reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to achieving a productive outcome. He remarked, “Currently, we cannot say that the results are sufficient. Military representatives have discussed several issues seriously and substantively, but sensitive political matters, potential compromises, and the need for a leaders’ meeting have not yet been adequately addressed.”

Additionally, Zelensky highlighted the need for negotiations to include humanitarian aspects. He stated, “It is essential to discuss prisoner exchanges and the release of civilians. We are actively seeking information on each individual and are committed to bringing our people home. Every exchange matters.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for renewed negotiations with Russia in February, stressing the need for European involvement and humanitarian discussions. He indicated that while some military issues have been addressed, key political matters remain unresolved.
