Ukrainian President Critiques Polish Leader’s Political Tactics Amid Tensions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized Polish President Karol Nawrocki for allegedly exploiting anti-Ukrainian sentiment for political gain. During a recent televised address, Zelensky drew parallels between Nawrocki’s actions and those of former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, suggesting that such strategies could lead to societal radicalization.

Zelensky stated, “I believe that after he made this decision, he continues his political struggle within his state by inciting hatred towards Ukrainians. What Orbán did will end badly.” He emphasized that Ukrainians are currently risking their lives for the security of Poland and Europe, countering any narrative that suggests otherwise.

In discussing the broader context of Polish-Ukrainian relations, Zelensky referenced his first official visit to Poland, during which he received a book about the Volhynian tragedy from Nawrocki. Despite expressing support for Ukraine, Nawrocki has not visited Ukraine since taking office.

The Ukrainian leader attributed this behavior to upcoming electoral processes in Poland, where parliamentary elections are scheduled for 2027. Nawrocki appears to be maneuvering politically to secure victories for his party against Donald Tusk’s political coalition.

In an effort to address the situation, Ukrainian officials, including Chief of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov and First Deputy Head Serhiy Kyslytsia, have traveled to Poland. Their discussions reaffirmed Zelensky’s assessment that Polish actions are primarily driven by political interests.

In related developments, Ukraine has intensified its military operations against Russian forces, successfully targeting a oil refinery in Tyumen using advanced drone technology. Zelensky announced plans for new drones capable of reaching distances over 3,000 kilometers, promising a daily response to Russian aggression.

Alongside these military advancements, Ukraine is negotiating the localization of arms production. Zelensky indicated that Ukrainian capabilities now allow for the production of missiles compatible with Patriot systems, with European and American companies already expressing their willingness to cooperate. The final step awaits approval from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned Polish President Karol Nawrocki for leveraging anti-Ukrainian sentiment for political advantage, warning of potential societal repercussions. Zelensky's remarks highlight the complexities of Polish-Ukrainian relations amid ongoing military developments in Ukraine.
