Ukraine Proposes Drone Cooperation to Bahrain Amid Regional Security Concerns

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently engaged in discussions with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, proposing a partnership focused on drone technology and security collaboration.

The conversation addressed the security landscape in the Middle East and the Gulf region, highlighting significant threats such as Iranian strikes against Bahrain and other nations. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine faces similar terrorist attacks daily, drawing on its extensive experience in comprehensive defense.

“Ukraine is prepared to share its security expertise with Bahrain and assist in enhancing the protection of lives,” Zelensky stated. He proposed the establishment of a “Drone Deal” to expand cooperation between the two countries, with plans for teams to work out the details.

In addition to security matters, the leaders also focused on strengthening bilateral economic relations and partnerships in agricultural production. This aligns with Ukraine’s broader strategy of fostering international collaborations, particularly in sectors where it has gained significant experience due to the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Furthermore, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha indicated that Ukraine is also open to collaborating with Japan in the field of drones and unmanned systems, offering to share insights gained during its full-scale war with Russia.

Ukrainian President Zelensky proposed a drone cooperation initiative to Bahrain's King Hamad, emphasizing shared security challenges. The discussions also included enhancing economic ties and agricultural partnerships.
