However, he indicated that a preferable scenario would involve the material being eliminated either on-site in Iran or at another mutually agreed location. He stated, “Enriched uranium (nuclear dust!) will either be immediately sent to the U.S. for disposal back home, or, preferably, destroyed on-site or at another acceptable location in coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the Atomic Energy Commission or its equivalent witnessing the process and event.”
The discussions between the U.S. and Iran are ongoing, facilitated by intermediaries. Recently, tensions escalated with threats of renewed military action, but Trump opted to pause attacks due to progress in diplomatic efforts.
Currently, both parties are working on a memorandum of understanding aimed primarily at halting hostilities.
