In a recent phone interview, President Donald Trump stated that Israel will ultimately have no choice but to accept a deal the United States negotiates with Iran. His comments come amid rising tensions following Iran’s missile strikes on Israel.
Trump responded decisively when asked if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could block the US-Iran agreement, asserting, “He will have no choice. I make the decisions. I make all the decisions. He does not.”
Additionally, during an interview with Fox News, Trump instructed Netanyahu to refrain from military actions against Iran, despite reports from Israeli military officials indicating readiness for a response.
The president’s remarks followed Iran’s recent launch of ballistic missiles targeting Israel, marking a significant breach of the ceasefire that has been in place since April. Trump reassured that these developments would not derail the ongoing negotiations, stating, “The deal may happen on its own—or not, but this will not affect it.”
However, he expressed less optimism about the timeline for an agreement, saying, “I think negotiations are ongoing. We’ll see what happens.”
Trump also did not rule out a military option if the deal falls through, explaining, “This would mean one of two things: either we go in and take care of what we did not accomplish militarily, or we simply maintain the blockade on Iran—it’s probably stronger than any strike.”
President Trump has indicated that Israel will have to accept a US-Iran deal, emphasizing his decision-making authority. Amid escalating tensions following missile strikes from Iran, he has instructed Israel to avoid military responses while negotiations continue.
