Polish Deputy Interior Minister Czeslaw Mroczek announced that police have made significant progress in their investigation of a recent incident involving a false emergency call related to the family of the Polish president in Gdansk.
Mroczek stated, “I can assure you that those responsible will not go unpunished. The police are on the right track. However, you will need to wait a day or two for the police to provide further details.” This statement comes as authorities work to clarify the events surrounding the emergency call.
The incident reportedly began with a call about a fire and a sudden cardiac arrest at the president’s family’s residence. Emergency responders faced challenges in contacting the occupants upon arrival, prompting them to forcibly enter the apartment, only to find it empty.
Wojciech Kruczek, the chief commander of the Polish State Fire Service, explained that the responders acted in accordance with established protocols. “The call from which the alarm originated did not yield any results. Attempts to reach the residents through the intercom were also unsuccessful. The commander lacked information about the situation occurring in the apartment,” he noted.
Andrzej Derlatka, a former head of Poland’s Intelligence Agency, suggested that such false reports could be part of hybrid operations orchestrated by foreign intelligence services. He urged politicians to unite in order to foster stability in Poland, especially with an election campaign on the horizon. “It is evident that eastern intelligence agencies are attempting to destabilize the situation. There is no doubt about this. Internal conflict at the highest levels weakens the state,” he emphasized.
