Russian Drone Strike in Kharkiv Claims One Life and Injures Another

On June 19, a Russian drone targeted a civilian vehicle in Kharkiv, resulting in one fatality and injuries to another individual. This incident was confirmed by local authorities, including Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

Terekhov reported that the drone struck the vehicle in the Kyivskyi district of the city. According to preliminary information, a passenger in the car was killed, while the female driver sustained injuries.

Synehubov further detailed that emergency services are currently addressing the aftermath of the strike. “As a result of the drone attack, a 48-year-old passenger lost his life, and a 38-year-old female driver is receiving medical assistance,” he stated.

This incident follows a series of recent attacks on Kharkiv, including a strike on a local zoo on June 15, which resulted in injuries to several animals. Additionally, a subsequent attack during the recovery efforts from the zoo strike led to the deaths of five emergency responders who were on-site managing a fire.

In the days leading up to this drone strike, Kharkiv experienced multiple assaults, including an attack on the Kharkiv Art Museum, prompting several individuals to seek medical attention for acute stress reactions.
