Iran Claims Victory Over U.S. Amid Ongoing Tensions

The Iranian government has declared a significant victory over the United States, asserting that Washington has failed to overthrow its regime or secure international support for controlling the strategic Strait of Hormuz. This statement comes as both nations are engaged in a ceasefire while negotiating a potential agreement.

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, emphasized that the inability of the U.S. to achieve its objectives signifies a defeat for the adversary. “When the enemy cannot reach its goals, it means they have suffered a loss,” he stated.

Qalibaf further noted that not only did the U.S. and Israel fail to destabilize the Iranian government, but they also encountered setbacks on the global stage, as allies declined to assist Washington in the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite this assertion of victory, Qalibaf acknowledged the economic and military advantages held by the U.S. and its allies. He remarked, “We have not destroyed the enemy; it still possesses wealth and weaponry, but strategically, it has been defeated compared to us.”

Currently, relations between the U.S. and Iran are characterized by a fragile ceasefire, with both sides seeking to negotiate a deal. This truce is expected to extend for several weeks beyond its initial expiration.

Recently, former President Donald Trump claimed that an agreement with Tehran is imminent, suggesting that Iran is prepared to make significant concessions regarding its nuclear program. However, Iranian officials have dismissed these assertions from the White House.

In a related development, Tehran has once again blocked the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the U.S. of piracy due to its maritime blockade of tankers traveling to and from Iranian ports.

Iran has proclaimed a victory over the U.S. for failing to destabilize its regime and secure control over the Strait of Hormuz. This assertion comes amid ongoing negotiations for a potential agreement between the two nations, despite tensions remaining high in the region.
