Belarus Foreign Minister Denied Visa for U.S. Peace Council Meeting

The Foreign Minister of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhankov, was unable to attend the inaugural meeting of the U.S. Peace Council due to a visa denial. This incident occurred despite the timely submission of all necessary documentation by the Belarusian delegation.

According to a statement from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. was informed in advance that Ryzhankov would represent Belarus at the event. However, the invitation was extended to Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus.

In their statement, the ministry expressed frustration over the failure to adhere to basic formalities, questioning the sincerity of the peace discussions.
