Ukrainians Abroad Can Now Register Tax Numbers for Children Online

Ukrainian citizens living abroad can now register a tax identification number (TIN) for their children under 18 through an online process, eliminating the need to return to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that parents and legal guardians can submit their applications online via the “e-Consul” system or through Ukrainian diplomatic missions. Minister Andriy Sybiga emphasized that this marks the first fully digital service offered by the Ukrainian consular service.

The ministry also indicated plans to expand this service, aiming to make TIN registration accessible to all Ukrainians abroad who require it.

The TIN, or Registration Number of the Taxpayer’s Card, is essential for various practical matters, including obtaining passport documents and conducting notarial actions. It also facilitates access to state registries and digital services, allowing both children and their parents to utilize a broader range of government services while residing outside Ukraine.

Advancements in Digital Services

Previously, the Diia app launched new features for parents and children, including the ability to register TINs online and access electronic tax cards. Additionally, there have been enhancements to digital control mechanisms for border crossings and travel arrangements.

As of May 12, the eQueue system introduced a new feature that automatically verifies the presence and validity of the international insurance certificate known as the “Green Card” during online queue bookings. If the insurance policy is absent or not yet valid, the system may cancel or restrict the queue entry until the requirements are met.

The Ministry of Development reminded that the “Green Card” is mandatory for all commercial vehicles crossing the border, including buses and trucks.

Ukrainians living abroad can now register tax identification numbers for their children online, a significant step in digitalizing consular services. This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance access to government services for citizens outside Ukraine.
