Samsung Set to Launch Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with New Processor

A significant information leak has revealed details about Samsung’s upcoming premium tablet, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, which is expected to be the company’s flagship model. The device is likely to retain key features from its predecessor, with no major changes anticipated in battery life or design.

Reports suggest that Samsung may overhaul its flagship tablet lineup. Last year, the company released two versions, the Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra; however, this year, the base model may be entirely removed from production.

Instead, consumers will have access to two higher-end models:

  • Galaxy Tab S12+ (model number SM-X846)
  • Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra (model number SM-X946)

The Ultra version is set to feature a large 14.6-inch display, mirroring the dimensions of the previous generation. Samsung appears to be focusing on internal specifications rather than altering the device’s exterior design.

One of the most notable updates is the shift in processor suppliers. Instead of the usual Qualcomm platforms, insiders indicate that the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will incorporate the latest and most powerful chipset, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This change is expected to enhance performance for demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, and AI functionalities.

However, the power subsystem will remain unchanged. The tablet will be equipped with a battery similar to that of the Tab S11 Ultra, featuring a capacity of 11,600 mAh.

The charging speed will also stay at previous levels, supporting wired fast charging of up to 45 watts.

The official launch and sales of the new Galaxy Tab S12 series are anticipated in September 2026. Analysts advise caution regarding this information, as the manufacturer may make final adjustments before the announcement.

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is set to feature a new MediaTek processor while maintaining similar design and battery specifications as its predecessor. The official launch is expected in September 2026.
