Ukrainian military officials have confirmed significant damage to three major oil facilities in Russia, following strikes carried out on June 8.
The “Grushovaya” oil terminal, located in the Krasnodar region, has reported fires affecting two oil storage tanks. Additionally, infrastructure used for assessing oil product quality has also been impacted.
In the Saratov region, the “Krasnoarmeysk” oil pumping station has sustained considerable damage, with two large oil tanks, each holding 50,000 cubic meters, confirmed to be on fire.
The third targeted facility is the “Krasny Yar” linear production dispatch station in the Volgograd region, where one oil storage tank of the same capacity is reported to be ablaze.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated, “Ukrainian defense forces continue to inflict losses on the critical fuel, energy, and logistical infrastructure of the aggressor state, which supports its war efforts against Ukraine.”
The “Grushovaya” terminal is part of the “Sheskharis” transshipment complex, a key hub for major oil pipelines in southern Russia, facilitating the reception, storage, and transshipment of oil for transportation through the port of Novorossiysk.
Ukrainian units, including the Special Operations Forces, have consistently targeted Russia’s oil and gas infrastructure. Recently, two large oil depots in Crimea, as well as an FSB control point and other military sites, were also struck.
