In the first four months of 2026, DTEK has allocated 5 billion UAH towards enhancing the readiness of its thermal power plants and coal mines for anticipated summer consumption peaks and the upcoming winter season.
According to preliminary data, DTEK Energy’s investment primarily focused on repair initiatives and restoration efforts following hostile attacks, aimed at ensuring the reliable operation of thermal generation and coal enterprises.
During the previous heating season, DTEK’s thermal power plants experienced 11 significant attacks, resulting in extensive damage. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, these plants have faced over 220 assaults.
“We continue our restoration efforts non-stop, as the scale of the damage remains unprecedented,” stated Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.
Fomenko indicated that the recovery of thermal power plants following the bombardments will extend throughout 2026 and beyond.
“Our unwavering goal is to restore capacities as swiftly as possible, ensuring that Ukrainians have access to light and heat, while strengthening the energy system, particularly during peak load periods,” he emphasized.
DTEK has invested significantly in the restoration of its energy infrastructure following numerous attacks, aiming to ensure reliable power supply during critical periods. The ongoing recovery efforts are expected to continue throughout 2026.
