In the early hours of June 23, Russian forces launched another wave of attacks on Zaporizhzhia, resulting in damage to residential buildings and other structures. The information was confirmed by Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, via Telegram.
Fedorov noted that there was an imminent threat of drone strikes and guided aerial bombs in the region late on June 22. By 1:00 AM, he reported multiple fires ignited by the attacks, with further details emerging shortly thereafter.
According to the official, a private residence, a service station, and a gas station were among the sites affected by the strikes. Additionally, damage was reported to private homes and agricultural buildings in the Zaporizhzhia district.
Medical assistance was sought by a 73-year-old man and woman following the assaults.
This latest incident adds to a troubling pattern of frequent bombardments targeting Zaporizhzhia. Earlier on June 22, a strike destroyed a residential building, leading to a fire and the tragic death of a woman who was inside at the time.
Moreover, the city had already endured attacks on the night of June 21, when residential structures were also hit, resulting in significant destruction.
On June 20, aerial bombs were dropped on Zaporizhzhia, damaging twelve apartment buildings, vehicles, and various other properties.
Zaporizhzhia continues to face relentless attacks from Russian forces, with recent strikes causing significant damage to residential areas and infrastructure. The ongoing violence has resulted in injuries and fatalities, highlighting the precarious situation in the region.
