Ukrainian President Zelensky Engages in Diplomatic Call with UK PM Starmer

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently held a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, expressing gratitude for the ongoing support from the United Kingdom.

During their discussion, Zelensky acknowledged the crucial assistance provided by Britain in safeguarding lives in Ukraine. The leaders aligned their diplomatic strategies regarding the ongoing Russian war against Ukraine, aiming to enhance meaningful diplomatic efforts.

The Office of the President noted that Zelensky and Starmer also agreed to maintain future communications.

On May 20, Zelensky had previously mentioned positive interactions with the United States, expressing hope for the resumption of peace talks with Russia, potentially involving European representatives. The inclusion of European officials in Ukraine-Russia negotiations is seen as a logical step, especially as Washington’s focus shifts towards the conflict in Iran.

Additionally, Zelensky indicated that Kyiv has communicated its position to London regarding the UK government’s decision to ease anti-Russian sanctions on diesel and aviation fuel derived from Russian crude oil.

Ukrainian President Zelensky thanked UK Prime Minister Starmer for Britain's support during a recent phone call. The leaders discussed diplomatic strategies related to the ongoing conflict with Russia and agreed to future communications.
