Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently met with members of the ruling Servant of the People party to discuss the potential conclusion of the active phase of the ongoing conflict. According to Olga Vasylevska-Smahliuk, a member of parliament from the party, the meeting focused significantly on this issue.
In a statement on Telegram, Vasylevska-Smahliuk noted that Zelensky indicated a possibility of ending the active phase of the war by November, contingent upon the provision of security guarantees. She emphasized that Ukraine currently holds a strategic advantage on the front lines, which should be leveraged to prevent Russia from regrouping and launching new offensives.
During the meeting, Zelensky also addressed other priorities for the coming weeks alongside Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko and members of the parliamentary majority. However, he did not provide further details regarding these discussions.
Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Holos party, commented on the meeting, indicating that Zelensky mentioned another theoretical timeline for the war’s conclusion. Zhelezniak expressed skepticism about this timeline, noting that similar predictions have been made in the past without materializing. This time, he referenced a proposed end date of November 2026, which attendees reportedly found hard to believe.
Last week, President Zelensky had also met with representatives of the Servant of the People party to discuss key agenda items for the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament.
