Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Naval Vessel and Drone Control Points in Caspian Sea

Ukrainian defense units successfully struck a Russian patrol boat in the Caspian Sea, along with drone control centers and enemy troop concentrations, confirming the destruction of additional targets from previous strikes.

The attack occurred on May 17 and continued into the night of May 18, 2026, targeting a “Grachonok” class counter-diversion boat near the city of Kaspiysk in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia.

These vessels are utilized by Russia to secure naval bases and counter sabotage groups.

In addition to the naval strike, Ukrainian forces targeted multiple drone command points in the following areas:

  • Rozdolne and Shevchenko in Donetsk;
  • Dvorichne in Kharkiv;
  • Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia;
  • Karnatny in Bryansk Oblast, Russia.

Ukrainian troops also attacked enemy troop concentrations in Piddubne, Donetsk, and Olhynne, Kherson.

Recent assessments have confirmed the destruction of several significant targets from earlier operations.

On May 17, 2026:

  • A communications hub in Myrne, located in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea;
  • A Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system in western Luhansk;
  • A fuel train in Fedorivka, also in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk.

On May 16, 2026:

  • A Ka-27 helicopter and a Be-200 maritime patrol aircraft were destroyed during an attack on the “Yeysk” airfield in Krasnodar Krai, Russia;
  • Aerial space control station in Lesnoye, Bryansk Oblast, Russia.

Ukrainian forces have conducted successful strikes against a Russian patrol boat and multiple drone control points in the Caspian Sea region. The operations also confirmed the destruction of various key military targets from earlier attacks.
