Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Logistics in Luhansk Region

The Third Army Corps of Ukraine has launched a series of strikes aimed at disrupting Russian military logistics in the Luhansk region. This operation extends to areas near the Izvaryne border crossing with Russia.

Military officials announced the initiation of a campaign to control logistical routes in Luhansk and Eastern Slobozhanshchyna. Drones were reportedly deployed over 205 kilometers into territory held by Russian forces, with one of the furthest targets being the vicinity of the Izvaryne checkpoint.

During the operation, Ukrainian troops successfully targeted enemy armored vehicles and ammunition depots. Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, stated that this operation was a direct response to Russian claims of having fully captured the Luhansk region.

“In response to enemy assertions of complete control over Luhansk, we are declaring an operation to manage logistical routes in Luhansk and Eastern Slobozhanshchyna. Cities such as Luhansk, Starobilsk, Alchevsk, Bryanka, and Kadiivka are now under the surveillance of the drones from the Third Army Corps,” Biletsky said.

The operation was reportedly planned and led by a drone strike platoon commander known by the call sign “Sikhid,” a native of Luhansk and a recipient of Ukraine’s highest state honor. In 2022, he parachuted into the besieged city of Mariupol and managed to exit to Ukrainian-controlled territory after the city’s defense concluded.

The Third Army Corps of Ukraine has initiated an operation targeting Russian logistics in the Luhansk region, responding to claims of Russian territorial control. The operation involved drone strikes on key military assets and was led by a decorated commander from the region.
