The Ukrainian government has announced the lifting of travel restrictions for a specific group of female officials during the ongoing martial law. This change allows women working in various government roles to cross the border without additional limitations.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Svyrydenko, employees from state authorities, local governments, state enterprises, and other specified organizations are now permitted to leave the country freely. However, this new rule does not apply to the highest-ranking officials, including Cabinet members and key leaders of state agencies.
Specifically, members of the Cabinet, ministry heads, leaders of central executive bodies, as well as deputies from the Office of the President, the Verkhovna Rada, the National Security and Defense Council, the Security Service, the National Bank, and members of the judiciary, including the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, remain under travel restrictions. Svyrydenko emphasized that these rules are in place to ensure the continuous operation of the government.
Additionally, it is important to note that as of April 10, an automated entry and exit registration system, known as EES, has been fully operational in Europe. This system affects residents from countries outside the European Union, and Ukrainians should prepare for updated border procedures.
The Ukrainian government has relaxed travel restrictions for certain female officials during martial law, allowing them to cross borders without limitations. However, top state officials remain subject to existing travel bans to ensure governmental continuity.
