In the early hours of June 11, Russian forces launched a significant assault on Ukraine, deploying over 200 drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Despite the efforts of Ukrainian air defense systems, some strikes resulted in damage.
The attack commenced on the evening of June 10, shortly after 6 PM. By the morning, reports indicated that two Iskander-M missiles had been fired from the Belgorod region, alongside the deployment of 221 strike drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones known as Parody.
The drones originated from multiple locations, including Bryansk, Kursk, and Oryol regions in Russia, as well as from occupied Crimea, specifically Chauda and Hvardiyiske.
Ukrainian air defense units, supported by aviation, anti-aircraft forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, engaged the aerial assault.
As of 7:30 AM, air defense had reportedly intercepted or neutralized 195 drones of various types across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
However, the attack also resulted in missile strikes and the impact of 21 drones at nine different locations, with debris falling in eight areas.
The Ukrainian Air Forces issued a warning, stating, “The attack is ongoing; hostile UAVs remain in the airspace. Please adhere to safety protocols.”
