Ukrainian company TAF Industries has commenced mass production of the Octopus-100 interceptor drone, designed to target Shahed missiles. This development comes amid ongoing military challenges posed by these aerial threats.
The Octopus-100 is currently available for immediate order, with the company maintaining stock for rapid delivery. TAF Industries has established efficient supply chains for the necessary components, enhancing its logistical capabilities.
The drone can be purchased directly through the company’s website or via Brave1 Market, priced at 117,000 UAH for a single unit, while a package of ten drones along with essential equipment costs 1,574,000 UAH.
“The current batch of Octopus-100 interceptors has been tested by our team and delivered to military units for operational use. Our experience in UAV development has allowed us to increase the interceptor’s speed by more than 20%,” stated TAF Industries CEO Volodymyr Zinovskyi.
Engineers at TAF Industries have also enhanced the drone’s aerodynamics through a comprehensive approach, which includes battery and motor upgrades, as well as improvements to the propeller design.
The Octopus-100 is engineered to effectively neutralize Shahed missiles and other aerial targets at high speeds, including during nighttime operations. It is capable of functioning in environments where electronic warfare is present.
Training for pilots to operate the Octopus-100 requires a few days for experienced users, while novices must first learn the fundamentals of FPV drone control. To effectively operate these interceptors within mobile fire groups and coordinate with detection specialists, approximately one month of training is necessary.
In related developments, Ukraine has also created the DART missile, which is launched from stratospheric balloons. This missile is notable for its resilience against enemy electronic warfare systems.
The DART missile is elevated to high altitudes, ranging from 12 to 18 kilometers, using specialized balloons. Precision activation is managed by servomechanisms that ensure a stable flight trajectory, maintaining reliability under various drop conditions.
TAF Industries has initiated the production of the Octopus-100 drone, aimed at intercepting Shahed missiles. This development highlights advancements in Ukraine's defense capabilities amid ongoing military conflicts.
