On the morning of April 15, the Russian military conducted an airstrike in the central part of Sloviansk using a FAB-1500 bomb. The attack resulted in considerable destruction and at least one reported injury.
The strike occurred around 5 a.m., according to local authorities. A children’s sports facility, recognized as a historical landmark of the city, was completely destroyed, along with one administrative building, while another sustained damage.
At least 39 residential buildings and 15 vehicles were also affected to varying degrees. One individual, a 57-year-old man, was reported injured and is being prepared for transfer to a clinic in Dnipro, as stated by local official Vadym Lyakh.
Photos released by the authorities illustrate the severe aftermath of the attack. Images show a multi-storey residential building with extensive damage, including shattered windows, destroyed balconies, and damaged facades.
Several apartments caught fire, with flames visible and thick smoke rising above the building. Debris and rubble around the site indicate the force of the explosion.

The FAB-1500 is a precision-guided bomb produced in three variants, featuring different configurations. Some versions are equipped with laser-guided or electro-optical guidance systems. The warhead can be fragmentation, penetrating, or fuel-air explosive.

Sloviansk, located near the front line in the Donetsk region, has been subjected to continuous Russian attacks using various types of weapons, including bombs, missiles, and drones. Recently, two FAB-250 bombs were dropped on the city’s residential sector, damaging over 20 private homes and injuring several individuals, including a 12-year-old girl.
Prior to this incident, Russian forces conducted an airstrike in the center of Sloviansk, resulting in four fatalities and approximately 20 injuries, including children.
