Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, revealed in a recent interview that Andrii Yermak, the former head of the President’s Office, reached out to him with a proposal for collaboration after his dismissal.
Lubinets stated that Yermak contacted him in his new capacity as a lawyer, having taken on the role of chair of the committee at the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine. During the call, Yermak expressed his focus on advocating for the rights of war victims and suggested they sign a memorandum of understanding.
However, Lubinets declined the offer, explaining that he did not see the necessity for such an agreement. He emphasized that signing a memorandum would imply that he required additional resources to fulfill his responsibilities in protecting human rights.
Yermak served as the head of the President’s Office from 2020 until his departure in 2025. Following his exit, he returned to legal practice and assumed leadership of the committee dedicated to the rights of military personnel within the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine. Notably, he had previously signed a similar memorandum with the military ombudsman’s office.
Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner, disclosed that Andrii Yermak, after leaving his position, proposed a collaboration focused on war victims' rights. Lubinets declined, citing his existing responsibilities in human rights protection.
