Finland’s President Highlights Ukrainian Military Gains Against Russian Forces

Finland’s President Alexander Stubb has provided insights into the current military situation in Ukraine, revealing a stark contrast in casualty rates between Ukrainian defenders and Russian invaders.

Stubb noted that the dynamics of the conflict have shifted significantly, stating, “The first year of this war for Ukraine was a struggle for survival. The following three years were about resilience. Now, it’s purely a matter of mathematics.” He emphasized that for every Ukrainian soldier lost, there are currently eight Russian casualties.

The Finnish leader also pointed out a decline in support for the war within Russia, suggesting that Ukraine now holds a strategic advantage.

In related comments, Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the President’s Office in Ukraine, indicated that Russian losses in the Donbas region have tripled, while their territorial gains remain minimal. He further mentioned that despite Russia’s ambitious plans for 2026, the Kremlin lacks the necessary resources to achieve these goals.

Finland's President Alexander Stubb has revealed that the casualty ratio in the Ukraine-Russia conflict is now eight Russian soldiers for every Ukrainian lost. This shift indicates a significant change in the military landscape, with Ukraine gaining an advantage as Russian support wanes.
