Drone Strikes Hit Russian Oil Facilities and Industrial Sites

In a series of overnight drone strikes, Russian facilities in Novorossiysk and the Perm region were targeted, resulting in fires at key infrastructure sites. The Krasnodar regional operational headquarters reported that debris from a drone fell on an oil storage facility, igniting several technical and administrative buildings.

The fire was confirmed to have started at the Grushovaya Balka oil depot, the largest oil storage site in the Caucasus, according to Russian media outlet Astra. Additionally, smoke was observed rising from the Sheshkaris fuel terminal along the Novorossiysk coast, which has previously been attacked.

In the Perm region, local authorities reported that drones struck an industrial facility, although no injuries were reported. Dmitry Makhonin, the regional head, provided few details about the incident.

Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ claimed that a drone hit the territory of the Metafrax chemical complex in Gubakha, known for producing ammonia, urea, and melamine. Meanwhile, Udmurtia also experienced drone activity, with local officials confirming an attack near a poultry farm in Glazov, where a fire was documented near an electrical substation.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that they had allegedly destroyed 348 Ukrainian drones overnight, although independent verification of this claim is lacking.

Ukrainian military officials have not commented on the attacks. Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, various sites within Russia have been subjected to aerial assaults. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed many of these attacks, asserting that Ukrainian defense forces are systematically working to diminish the combat capabilities of Russian occupation forces and compel Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.

Recent drone strikes in Russia have targeted oil facilities in Novorossiysk and industrial sites in the Perm region, causing significant fires. The attacks reflect ongoing tensions and military actions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
