Drone Strike in Odesa Damages Residential Building, Injures Four

On the evening of April 15, Russian forces launched a series of drone strikes targeting Ukraine, with some drones aimed at Odesa. One of these unmanned aerial vehicles struck a residential high-rise, resulting in significant damage.

The attack impacted the upper floors of the building, specifically affecting apartments on the fifth to seventh levels. Following the strike, a fire broke out, engulfing parts of the affected premises.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene to manage the aftermath of the attack. They were able to localize the fire, and efforts to fully extinguish it were ongoing.

As of now, information regarding casualties and the extent of the destruction is still being confirmed. Emergency teams are conducting assessments of the damaged building to determine the structural integrity and necessary safety measures for residents.

As of 7:25 PM, Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, reported that four individuals had sustained injuries from the drone strike.

An operational headquarters has been established at the site, where work continues. At 7:29 PM, Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, provided further updates, indicating that a private home in the Bereziv district was also damaged by a drone strike, resulting in roof damage.

A fire broke out in the vicinity of that home, but it was subsequently extinguished by firefighters. No reports of injuries from this incident have been received.
