All remnants of the ‘Oreshnik’ ballistic missile, used in a nighttime assault on Kyiv, have been gathered and handed over for examination.
According to Vlasuk, the amount of debris collected exceeded expectations, and it has been transferred to specialists for further study.
Despite the challenging night, the effectiveness of the ‘Oreshnik’ strike was reported to be low.
About the ‘Oreshnik’
The ‘Oreshnik’ is a Russian hypersonic medium-range ballistic missile, developed from the RS-26 intercontinental ballistic missile. It travels at a speed of approximately 3 kilometers per second, making it ten times faster than sound.
With a striking range of up to 5,500 kilometers, it can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads, including independently targetable multiple warheads.
The missile was first deployed by Russia in November 2024, targeting Dnipro. The cost of a single missile is estimated to range from $40 million to $100 million.
The remnants of the 'Oreshnik' missile used in a recent attack on Kyiv have been collected for analysis, revealing low strike effectiveness. This missile, first used in late 2024, is a hypersonic weapon with significant range and destructive capability.
