The death toll in Kyiv has increased following a significant assault by Russian forces on June 2. According to local officials, seven fatalities have been confirmed as a result of the attack.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the number of injured has reached 89, with 51 individuals currently hospitalized, including two children. The attack involved a combination of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, as well as drone strikes.
Ukrainian sources indicate that approximately 70 missiles and nearly 700 drones were launched during the assault. While air defense systems managed to intercept a substantial number of these threats, several ballistic missiles still struck their targets.
In a separate incident, Russian forces targeted a key facility of Naftogaz in the Kharkiv region early in the morning following the Kyiv attack. The assault began with drones and was followed by a missile strike.
