Chernihiv Faces Total Power Outage After Russian Strikes

On the morning of March 21, Chernihiv experienced a complete power outage due to Russian attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure.

The city council confirmed that all critical and social infrastructure facilities are now relying on alternative power sources.

Reports indicate that a significant energy facility in the Nizhyn district was damaged during the assault.

Approximately 430,000 subscribers in the Nizhyn, Pryluky, and Chernihiv districts have lost power. Emergency restoration efforts are already underway by energy workers.

Residents of Chernihiv have been informed that, due to the lack of electricity, all trolleybus routes, except for route No. 11, are temporarily suspended.

The Transport and Infrastructure Department announced that trolleybus services will resume once the situation stabilizes.

Chernihiv is grappling with a total power outage following Russian strikes that targeted energy infrastructure. Emergency services are working to restore power to the affected areas.
