Bridges Linking Kherson Region and Crimea Targeted in Drone Strikes

In the early hours of June 11, multiple bridges connecting the Kherson region with the occupied territory of Crimea were reportedly struck, according to local sources. The attacks have raised concerns about the ongoing conflict and its impact on transportation routes.

The Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” indicated that a bridge near Krasnoperekopsk, approaching from the direction of Armyansk, sustained damage. Additionally, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Crimean Realities project reported a hit on a bridge in Armyansk, located in northern Crimea.

During the night, both Crimea and Sevastopol experienced drone and missile attacks, with explosions reported in several locations including Sevastopol, Bakhchisarai, Simferopol, and Armyansk. Following the assault in Simferopol, a fire broke out, and power outages were reported in certain areas of Sevastopol.

Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-appointed head of the occupied part of the Kherson region, confirmed that drone strikes targeted four bridges, including those over the North Crimean Canal near Preobrazhenka and Myrne, as well as a road bridge connecting Perekop and Armyansk, and another bridge near the settlement of Stavky. He noted that preliminary information indicated damage to these structures, leading to the closure of traffic.

In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have intensified their attacks on transport routes leading to Crimea. The bridge near Chonhar has been targeted multiple times, resulting in the closure of this critical transport artery. As a consequence of these disruptions, Crimea is facing fuel shortages attributed to logistical challenges.

Recent drone strikes have targeted several bridges connecting the Kherson region and Crimea, causing damage and disrupting transport routes. The attacks reflect the ongoing conflict's impact on logistics in the area, leading to fuel shortages in Crimea.
