Initial reports suggest that the fire may have been triggered by a strike on a fuel reservoir at the plant located in the Arshyntseve district of Kerch. Monitoring groups have confirmed the occurrence of the fire, which has also been observed through satellite imagery, revealing a smoke plume extending approximately 47 kilometers.
In response to the fire, the occupying authorities announced that the outages were due to “technological disruptions in the electrical networks.” The blackout has affected several locations, including:
