Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever in Brussels on Thursday to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine’s defense efforts, particularly concerning the delivery schedule for F-16 fighter jets.
During the meeting, Zelensky emphasized the critical need for air defense assistance, stating, “We also talked about the timeline for the delivery of F-16 fighter jets. The first shipments are expected this year. Such support for air defense is urgently needed right now.”
Belgium is reportedly preparing a significant new aid package, which will contribute to the PURL program aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s military capabilities. This initiative reflects Belgium’s commitment to enhancing Ukraine’s defense amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
