Ukraine Intercepts Majority of Russian Drone Attack Amid Ongoing Threat

In the early hours of June 12, Ukraine faced a significant aerial assault involving 117 attack drones launched by Russian forces. Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted most of these drones, although some managed to hit their targets.

The drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones like Parody, were deployed from various locations, including Orel, Kursk, and Millerovo in Russia, as well as Chauda and Hvardiyiske in the occupied territory of Crimea.

Ukrainian defense efforts involved a coordinated response from aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. As of 08:00, preliminary reports indicated that air defense systems had downed or suppressed 102 enemy drones of various types.

Despite these efforts, there were confirmed strikes from 14 attack drones across seven locations, with debris from intercepted drones falling in eight different areas.

“The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in the airspace. Please adhere to safety regulations!” – Ukrainian Air Force.

On June 12, Ukraine's air defense successfully intercepted the majority of a large-scale drone attack by Russia, although some drones struck various locations. The incident highlights the ongoing aerial threats faced by Ukraine amid the conflict.
