Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in Estonia on Tuesday for a significant diplomatic visit coinciding with the Nordic-Baltic Eight summit.
The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the couple, sharing a photo of their arrival on social media. The summit serves as a platform for discussions among leaders from the Nordic and Baltic regions.
During the visit, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo confirmed he had a bilateral meeting with Zelensky, focusing on defense technology cooperation. Zelensky also met with the Prime Ministers of Latvia and Sweden, further strengthening regional ties.
Scheduled discussions include meetings with Estonian President Alar Karis and Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, aimed at enhancing collaboration between Ukraine and Estonia.
Accompanying Zelensky is Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, who has already engaged with his Estonian counterpart, Margus Tsahkna, to discuss bilateral relations.
Previously, on June 7, Zelensky participated in a meeting with the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany in London, where they outlined conditions for achieving a fair and lasting peace. He also briefed them on the current battlefield situation, including Russian losses and Ukraine’s defense needs.
President Zelensky's visit to Estonia highlights Ukraine's efforts to strengthen ties with Nordic and Baltic nations amid ongoing defense discussions. His meetings with regional leaders aim to bolster cooperation in defense technology and regional security.
