Ukrainian officials are taking steps to deport men who have illegally crossed the border, particularly those who entered by swimming across the Tisza River. This announcement was made by Vasyl Voskoboynyk, head of the non-governmental organization “Office of Migration Policy,” during a recent interview.
Voskoboynyk explained that foreign authorities will find it relatively straightforward to identify men who have crossed the Ukrainian border without proper documentation. Specifically, these individuals will lack a border crossing stamp in their passports, which could lead to complications.
“For those who crossed the border, as they say, ‘through the Tisza,’ it is quite simple—there is no stamp in their passport indicating a legal crossing. Such individuals will face issues, and they are likely to be deported,” Voskoboynyk stated.
Return of Ukrainian Men from Abroad
Earlier, Ruslan Horbenko, a member of the ruling party “Servant of the People,” reported isolated instances of forced repatriation of Ukrainian men of conscription age from European Union countries. According to Horbenko, upon their return, these individuals may be directed to territorial recruitment and social support centers.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized the need for rotations among Ukrainian defenders at the front. He believes that competent authorities in Ukraine and Germany should address the situation of Ukrainians who left the country in violation of Ukrainian law.
